Reviewer Guidelines

Reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the academic quality, credibility, and integrity of Al-Qiyadah: Journal of Contemporary Islamic Management and Leadership. The journal applies a single-blind peer review process in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of submitted manuscripts based on scholarly standards and ethical publication practices.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  1. Evaluate manuscripts objectively and professionally.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of all manuscript information.
  3. Provide constructive feedback to improve manuscript quality.
  4. Identify relevant published works not cited by the authors.
  5. Inform the editor about any indication of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ethical misconduct.
  6. Complete the review process within the specified review period.
  7. Declare any conflict of interest before accepting the review assignment.

Review Criteria

Reviewers should assess the manuscript based on the following aspects:

1. Relevance to Journal Scope

  • The manuscript fits the focus and scope of Islamic management and leadership studies.
  • The topic contributes to contemporary academic discussions.

2. Originality and Novelty

  • The manuscript offers new insights, perspectives, or findings.
  • The study demonstrates originality and academic contribution.

3. Title and Abstract

  • The title is clear, concise, and representative of the content.
  • The abstract adequately summarizes the background, objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions.

4. Introduction

  • The background and problem statement are clearly presented.
  • The literature review is relevant and sufficient.
  • The research gap and objectives are clearly identified.

5. Research Methodology

  • The research design is appropriate and clearly explained.
  • Data collection and analysis procedures are valid and reliable.
  • Ethical considerations are properly addressed when necessary.

6. Results and Discussion

  • Findings are presented systematically and clearly.
  • The discussion is analytical, critical, and supported by relevant theories and references.
  • Conclusions are supported by the research findings.

7. References

  • References are relevant, recent, and adequate.
  • Citation style follows APA 7th Edition consistently.

8. Language and Writing Quality

  • The manuscript is written in clear academic language.
  • Grammar, coherence, and organization are adequate.

Reviewer Recommendations

At the end of the review, reviewers should provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept Submission
  • Revisions Required
  • Resubmit for Review
  • Decline Submission

Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers

Reviewers must:

  • Respect confidentiality during and after the review process.
  • Avoid personal criticism toward authors.
  • Provide evidence-based comments and recommendations.
  • Refrain from using unpublished manuscript materials for personal research purposes.

Reviewers should submit:
