Publication Ethics

Al-Qiyadah: Journal of Contemporary Islamic Management and Leadership is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and preventing all forms of publication malpractice. This journal follows ethical principles based on transparency, academic integrity, professionalism, and responsibility in scholarly publishing.

All parties involved in the publication process, including editors, reviewers, and authors, are expected to adhere to ethical standards in accordance with international academic publishing practices.

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  1. Evaluating manuscripts fairly and objectively based on academic merit without discrimination regarding race, gender, religion, nationality, or political views.
  2. Maintaining confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities.
  3. Ensuring that all published articles meet academic quality and ethical standards.
  4. Making publication decisions based on the journal’s policies and reviewers’ recommendations.
  5. Preventing conflicts of interest in the editorial process.
  6. Taking appropriate action regarding suspected ethical violations, plagiarism, or research misconduct.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  1. Conduct reviews objectively, professionally, and constructively.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts during the review process.
  3. Provide clear and evidence-based comments to improve manuscript quality.
  4. Identify relevant published works not cited by the authors.
  5. Inform editors of any suspected plagiarism, duplication, or ethical misconduct.
  6. Avoid reviewing manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must:

  1. Submit original and unpublished work.
  2. Ensure that the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal simultaneously.
  3. Properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in the manuscript.
  4. Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and duplicate publication.
  5. Provide accurate data and research findings honestly.
  6. Disclose any conflicts of interest related to the research or publication process.
  7. Include all individuals who made significant contributions as co-authors.
  8. Notify the editor promptly if significant errors are discovered after publication.

Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism or unethical citation practices will be rejected immediately.

Conflict of Interest

Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the publication process, interpretation of data, or editorial decisions.

Retraction and Correction Policy

The journal reserves the right to retract, correct, or clarify published articles if:

  • Significant errors are identified
  • Ethical violations are proven
  • Research misconduct is detected
  • Duplicate publication occurs

Corrections and retractions will be published transparently to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting the journal the right of first publication. Published articles may be distributed and accessed openly for academic and educational purposes.
